Traffic

I woke up early so that could have ample time to wake up before
theory. I don't think that idea worked out. I'm sitting at starbucks
on university and I'm finding that it is fun to watch people race to
work. Everyone is in such a hurry. This intersection in particular is
congested with stupid people trying to outsmart each other and "go
first". Last week some lady on her phone (and driving) almost hit me
while I was crossing the street on my bike. I had the right of way and
she was just trying to beat oncoming traffic.

Anyway.

School is great. I feel like I'm actually in a groove. I'm keeping up
with homework and everthing!

On the subject of technology...
I read an article in the new york times today about the door that the
failure of vista opened for macs. I thought it was interesting that
vista was so widely a dissapointment. I knew my mother didn't like it
but I didn't know that people were actually requesting xp. The article
said that new computer buyers would be sick of vista so much that they
would accept switching to mac easier. It also said that those
consumers would also want to try out the computers but would find it
hard u less they knew someone who already owned one. Very true. There
are not many apple stores in the us. Most of the computer business is
done by Internet. Compusa and bestbuy are both trying to carry apple
computers but apple has a track record of not getting along with major
stores. It should be intersting though to see how sales jump with this
new release of iPods and the iPhone; along with October's release of
leapard. It shall be interesting.

miPhone

I was there. That first day. I was six hours early, waiting in line for the iphone. I felt silly the next morning when you could just walk into any at&t store or apple store and buy one without waiting in line. It was so worth it.

People ask me if I have had problems with the iPhone. No, I never returned it. I let the bugs be fixed by software updates that were painless.

People asked me if the internet was slow. Yes, if I'm in the car it can be slow, but only if I'm trying to load a large page. I'm usually in a wi-fi area and the internet is no problem.

People ask me if I'm upset about the price decrease. No, I think my time with the iPhone prior to September 5 was well worth the extra 200 dollars. The 100 dollar store credit is going to be nice too. I think I'll just get a 100 dollar iTunes gift card.

People ask me why I didn't wait for iPhone 2.0 or iPhone nano. This is my LEAST favorite question.
iPhone 2.0 will not happen for quite some time. No there will not be a new one in December. There I said it, online so that anyone can access my words when the time comes. The iPhone is essentially an empty piece of hardware. Software/Firmware updates give the iPhone things that other phones, mp3 players, and pda's lack. iPhone 2.0 might be a completely free software update from Apple that happens during syncing. People who say "I don't buy first generation products" do NOT know what they are talking about. This is THE generation product. It is completely malliable and supports great updates!

What if Apple inc. does release another iphone? A newer better hardware model. Well then I will upgrade. But until then... I'm sick of stupid questions. Yes my first bill came in a box. Yes at&t coverage does suck in some places. Yes there is no 3g internet and I honestly don't care.

A couple of days ago my girlfriend Katie bought her own iPhone after watching me with mine for so long. She is so funny. It is amazing to see her go throught the same things that I went through when I first got mine. In days she was typing so well! You really do get used to it. She talked one of her coworkers into buying one as well after the great pricedrop. The fever seems to be spreading well.

I decided to get a case for my iPhone that would allow me to put it in my pocket instead of wearing it on my hip. I am not out to say "look at me I have an iPhone".

anyway, just don't ask me anymore questions please.

Peace at hand

I went to Ruffner mountain today to find some quiet. It was great to sit alone and to stop thinking. On the trails I practiced my Conducting coordination drills and meditated on matters very close to me. I feel so refreshed and enlightened. Hooray... tomorrow comes another escape!

Got ya!

So yesterday I was sitting in traffic on the way to boys choir
rehearsal when I saw this happening in front of me an I thought "what
a jerk trying to get past an ambulance!" then I used my zoom vision to
realize that the person I was talking about, I actually knew. If you
look closely you can see who it was unless you don't know hoodie. Haha.

Right now I'm sitting outside of the choir room waiting for class to
start. Six of us out here are playing on mac devices. It's a mac
party! I hope more people convert before the end of the year. Then we
can be the state's first all mac all Steinway choir! Haha.

My classes seem easy so far. Theory and aural skills were fun this
morning!

Quick bite

Have you ever just craved a candy bar or some pretzels? Thirsted for a
diet coke or a mountain dew? Have no fear! The common area of the
education building on uab's campus has a variety of products availabe.
I couldn't believe how many machines there are in this hallway alone.
It is hard not to grab something when you have a measly 10 minutes
between classes. It's almost like they are force feeding junk food to
another generation of Americans. I bought a diet coke because the
spirit moved me so. My advise: pack a lunch that includes snack food.

As I lay me down

This is my view at the end of the day about to sleep. "lay me low" is very fitting by the way. Today (Sunday) was long. Church choir, church choir concert and then work immediately following... I got off at about 10:20 this evening and I feel drained. I need Sundays to refuel not to drain. I realize now how crazy my schedule is. Oh no.

I'm eager to see how this coming week pans out and if I survive!

It is amazing how long I can stare at the ceiling and not sleep. I need meds but I don't like going to the doctor.

I'm in a mellow frank sinatra mood tonight. So here is a line for you.

I dim all the lights and I sink in my chair
The smoke from my cigarette climbs through the air
The walls of my room fade away in the gloom
And I'm deep in a dream of you...

I am back

So after many trials and tribulations I have seen the light! Blogger, you have always been good to me and I think I might stay now... unless Apple comes out with something crazy and revolutionary in the next couple of days for iweb. It just seems that I tried every way possible to blog like I want to on iweb via my iphone but alas... the link is not solid yet. Yes I know my last post was joyful about how I hacked the system but there were no comment sections or sure ways to post promptly. The email posting function on blogger, however, posts almost immediately. I had just forgotten that I even had that option! How dumb of me.

Blogger, I am sorry that I did not trust you.. even right after your anniversary! I promise not to second guess you again. You saved me from the rss failures of blurty and now are holding my strong until iweb gets its html sorted out so it doesnt take 3x longer to load than any other website... including amazon.com

So here I am... showing you all the pic of my imac screen as I was debating my blog publishers... enjoy

Saturday School

So it's Saturday right? But i've been at school today and I have done homework. I'm actually in starbucks right now, and I just took this picture... Thats right I finally figure out how to mobile blog using iweb! It took time, hacks, automatation, and just a little common sense. I figured since it is saturday and it is rainy and I have tons of homework already, I just ought to go do some of that homework.

On another note, choir rehearsal was great today. Minus some minor vocal problems that I hope Dr. Kris catches and hits on... We seem to be progressing very well and I think my section is strong for just sight reading so far! It is exciting. Makes up for last year... Definitely

On a whole school seems to be be really coming together for me. I feel like I know exactly what is expected of me and that is a rarity. 15hours is much more agreeable than the original 18 but it also means I will have a busy spring and summer. Oh well.

I bought a baton for conducting class. It is quite amusing, especially when I'm home alone and get to play pretend... Am I a dork? Nope. I figure I won't own many batons in my lifetime, unless something crazy happens where I become maestro! I have liked being directed with hands much more anyway.

At work things are changing because of school season and approaching fall (season not weather) I miss hailey and I'm not finding much patience for the people... Person that I don't like. I'll be ok.

Start to a great year I hope

When I step into the light
My arms are open wide
